BASF has selected Freeport, Texas, as the site for its proposed world-scale methane-based propylene (MTP) complex. The MTP plant was designed with an annual capacity of approximately 475,000 metric tons of propylene per year. BASF’s board of directors will make a decision on the project in 2016. BASF said the MTP plant would be its largest single-plant investment to date.
