Cheniere Energy on Wednesday announced it has filed paperwork with federal authorities to add two more liquefaction trains at its Corpus Christi LNG terminal. Construction has begun on two of the five trains already proposed.
Cheniere has also agreed to partner with Parallax Enterprises to develop up to 10 million tonnes per year of LNG production capacity at Live Oak LNG in southwestern Louisiana and Louisiana LNG, located on the Mississippi River 40 miles from New Orleans.
If completed, the projects would add 19 million tonnes per year of incremental LNG production capacity to Cheniere’s portfolio. Cheniere said both projects could be underway by 2017.
