A small fire broke out at Phillips 66’s Lake Charles, Louisiana, refinery during a unit shutdown on Monday. Via FuelFix, the fire was extinguished and there were no injuries or impacts to the community. Phillips 66 declined to say whether or not the blaze was related to severe weather.
Widespread flooding throughout south Louisiana has displaced thousands of people from their homes and forced more than 200 road closures. Twelve parishes have been declared major disaster areas by the federal government. The refineries located in those areas have largely gone unscathed.
