Shell has taken a gasoline-producing unit at its Deer Park, Texas, refinery out of production, according to energy information service Genscape. Via Reuters, it is not clear if the unit was shut down due to torrential rains that flooded the Houston area this week. The weather had no impact on oil fields or refineries in the Galveston Bay area.
Last week it was reported that a steam cracker at Shell’s Deer Park chemical plant suffered two process upsets in as many days.
