Ethanol plants operated at the second-fastest pace on record during the first week of January, creating an oversupply. Via Bloomberg, gasoline demand has fallen since last year and it can’t keep up with the glut. Meanwhile, the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers last week filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit brought by the ethanol industry against the EPA for lowering mandated renewable fuel volumes.
