Total has launched front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for a second ethane cracker at its Port Arthur, Texas, complex. Via FuelFix, the $2 billion unit would produce up to 2.2 million pounds of ethylene per year. Total on Wednesday said it would make a final decision on the project next year, with startup expected in 2019. Total contracted with CB&I for the FEED work.
