Westlake Chemical Partners will add 70 million pounds per year of ethylene production capacity at its Calvert City, Kentucky, plant, the company announced today. Westlake CEO Albert Chao said the expansion would combine with incremental increases for a total of 100 million pounds of annual ethylene production capacity.
Westlake is also adding 250 million pounds per year of capacity at its Petro 1 facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The Calvert City expansion is expected to come on line in the first half of 2017.
