Phillips 66, Energy Transfer Partners and Sunoco Logistics Partners are teaming up to build a pipeline that will deliver crude oil from terminals in Texas to refineries in Louisiana. The Bayou Bridge pipeline will transport oil from the Phillips 66 and Sunoco terminals in Nederland, Texas, to Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Construction has already begun, and the pipeline is expected to be in service in the first quarter of 2016. Phillips 66 CEO Greg Garland said the Bayou Bridge pipeline would enable the delivery of more North American heavy and light crudes into the Louisiana market, which depends heavily on marine and rail for oil deliveries.
The companies will also launch an open season to gauge shipper interest in an expansion with service to terminals in St. James, Louisiana.
