TransCanada and Magellan Midstream Partners will move forward with a plan to link their Houston area terminals, the companies announced today. The plan, which was first announced last April, will include the construction of the nine-mile HoustonLink crude oil pipeline. The $50 million pipeline is expected to start up in the first half of 2017.
HoustonLink will provide customers of TransCanada’s Keystone and Marketlink pipelines access to refineries in Houston and Texas City, Texas.
Magellan and TransCanada will each own 50% of the pipeline, and Magellan will serve as construction manager and operator.
