GE today announced the launch of its new Houston-based Downstream Technology Solutions business, which will offer steam turbines, blowers, pumps, valves and other products and services. The reciprocating compression division of Cameron, which GE agreed to buy last month, will become part of the new downstream division.
GE also formed an alliance with Chevron to develop and commercialize new oil and gas technologies. The two companies are already working together to develop the GE Safire flow meter, a product being deployed at Chevron wells in the western U.S.
