A Danish tanker carrying MTBE and a Liberian bulk carrier collided at about 12:30 p.m. Monday near Morgan’s Point in Galveston Bay. The leak has been secured and no injuries have been reported.
The MTBE spill prompted a shelter-in-place for residents of Morgan’s Point. Officials are monitoring the air in the area where the spill occurred.
