Citgo Petroleum is working to restart some units at the Aruba refinery, which has been idle for four years, Reuters reports. Sources told the news agency a technical team from Citgo has been working since September to re-configure the refinery and that the firm would soon hire staff and contractors. Previous operator Valero Energy Corp. has not been a part of the negotiations between Citgo and the government of Aruba.
The 235,000-barrel-per-day refinery was idled in 2012 due to low margins and has since been used as an oil terminal.
