Marathon Petroleum shut down several units at its Catlettsburg, Kentucky, refinery amid freezing weekend weather, Reuters reports. Workers were still trying to restart the units as of Tuesday.
More refinery outages could come in the next several days, as the Midwest and East Coast prepare for a severe winter storm. Last year cold weather caused disruptions at northeastern U.S. refineries owned by Phillips 66, Delta Air Lines and Philadelphia Energy Solutions and BP’s Whiting, Indiana, refinery.
