Motiva Enterprises has withdrawn its permit request for a hydrocracker and diesel hydrotreater unit expansion at its Port Arthur, Texas, refinery. Via Reuters, Motiva co-owner Shell declined to explain why Motiva withdrew the request or if the project is still under consideration.
The project would have boosted diesel production and expanded the unit’s design capacity from 82,000 barrels per day to 105,000 barrels per day. Motiva planned to begin construction in April 2015.
