Via the Contra Costa Times, Phillips 66 will submit a report on the incident to regional air quality officials within the next few weeks. Local authorities advised people with respiratory sensitivities to avoid the area, but no injuries were reported.
-ExxonMobil in July reversed a 71-mile segment of its North Line pipeline from Longview, Texas, to Shreveport and Finney, Louisiana, Reuters reports. The reversal is part of a bigger plan to move more Permian Basin crude to Louisiana refineries. A Delek official said his company’s El Dorado, Arkansas, refinery is the North Line’s sole shipper until ExxonMobil finishes reversing an idle stretch that runs to the ExxonMobil refinery in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
-Florida Fuel Connection is planning to build a $75 million petroleum terminal and rail transportation facility in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, the Baton Rouge Advocate reports. The terminal will link the Colonial Pipeline system to rail lines that can transport gasoline and other fuels to Florida and southeast Georgia. It is expected to start up by the first quarter of 2017.
-Devon Energy has elected COO Dave Hager as its new president and CEO. Hager succeeds John Richels, who announced his retirement last December. Hager joined Devon in 2009 as executive vice president of exploration and production after serving a two-year stint on the company’s board of directors.
