-Sinclair Oil’s refinery in Wyoming has embarked upon the largest maintenance project in its history. Via the Associated Press, nearly 3,000 workers will be brought in through mid-July to clean and inspect units and perform any needed repairs. AP notes that there has been difficulty housing all the incoming workers.
-Howard Energy Midstream Partners is moving forward with the 200-mile Nueva Era pipeline, which will deliver natural gas from Webb County, Texas, to Monterrey, Mexico. The 600-million-cubic-feet-per-day pipeline is expected to be in service in July 2017.
-Plains All American Pipeline and Delek Logistics Partners on Tuesday began an open season for their proposed joint venture Caddo Pipeline. The pipeline would deliver 80,000 barrels per day of crude oil from Plains’ terminal in Longview, Texas, to refineries in Shreveport, La., and Delek’s pipeline system, which supplies the Delek El Dorado, Ark., refinery.
-Plains, meanwhile, has come under criticism for its slow response to the recent oil pipeline spill in Santa Barbara County, Calif. A report from the Associated Press reveals the company was not able to reach workers at the site of the spill while trying to gather information for federal emergency officials. Plains notified the National Response Center almost 90 minutes after confirming the spill.
-Bayer is planning an IPO for its MaterialScience plastics division, which will be renamed Covestro. Via Reuters, analysts peg the potential value of the unit at $11 billion. The IPO could come as early as October.
