Tesoro Corp. has canceled plans to build a 135-mile pipeline that would move crude oil from Utah’s Uinta Basin to Salt Lake City refineries. Via Reuters, the company cited low oil prices and economic challenges in its decision. Tesoro notified the U.S. Forest Service in February that engineering and design work had been done, but the company was not ready to commit to its construction due to market conditions. A Tesoro spokeswoman said the company might evaluate it again in the future. The pipeline was expected to start up in 2016.
