BIC Media Solutions (BMS) received a special invitation to attend the world premiere of “The Identical” movie in New York City. BMS has previously attended several pre-screenings for the film and co-sponsored a New Orleans screening with City of Peace Films in July. “The Identical” officially hit theaters Friday, Sept. 5.
The cast, with the exception of Ashley Judd, was in attendance. Also in attendance were director Dustin Marcellino, producers Jordan Marcellino, Jerry Marcellino and Don Noes, executive producers Michael Johnson and Yochanan Marcellino and Vision Films’ Lise Romanoff, among other filmmakers and famous faces. The stars and filmmakers lined the red carpet, patiently answering interview questions and posing for photos at the SVA Theatre in New York City.
“The Identical” features 20 original time-period inspired songs by music producer Yochanan Marcellino and his father, Jerry Marcellino, a Motown record producer. Lead actor Blake Rayne performs, as well as other artists including Darcey and Mo, The Morph Kings, House of Peace and the Ricky Reece Band.
BMS wrapped post-production for “A Gift Horse,” an inspirational family film, in early October. “A Gift Horse” features an original score by composer Andrew Morgan Smith, and Sammy Huen of Global Audio Works finished the final sound edits. The film has already been picked up for international distribution. Vision Films is working diligently to give “A Gift Horse” maximum exposure in the international market. It will premiere at Mipcom in Cannes, France in October, and again at American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica, California in November.
BMS also recently funded the completion of an upcoming comedy feature, “Car Lot Comedy,” starring the late Sherman Hemsley, David Faustino and Carl Payne. The film has been completed, and producers are currently discussing domestic and international distribution with several companies.
BMS will co-sponsor the New Orleans Film Festival on Oct. 16-23 and is co-publishing the festival’s official 2014 program guide. Over 22,000 filmmakers and movie fanatics are expected to attend the festival to view hundreds of independent, local and international films.
In 2013, BMS became an investor and advisor in “Scene Magazine,” an entertainment and film publication based in Louisiana. In January, BMS co-sponsored a VIP screening of “Lone Survivor” as a fundraiser for the Boot Campaign and the Lone Survivor Foundation. The investment into the entertainment publication, coupled with the “Lone Survivor” event sponsorship, triggered so much interest in the energy sector that BMS expanded into film industry investments, coproduction and marketing.
