A fire aboard a Pemex production platform in the Gulf of Mexico today killed four people and injured at least 45. Via Reuters, the fire broke out on the Abkatun Permanente platform in the Bay of Campeche overnight. More than 300 workers have been evacuated.
Reuters notes that Pemex has suffered numerous fatal accidents in recent years, including an explosion at its Mexico City headquarters last year that killed 37 people and a natural gas facility fire in 2012 that killed 26 people.
