Authorities in Williston, N.D., have yet to reveal what caused a massive fire to break out at an oil supply company late Monday. Via the Associated Press, local officials were allowing the blaze — which occurred at oil field logistics company Red River Supply — to burn itself out. A National Guard hazardous materials unit was dispatched to the scene, which is located east of Williston’s downtown area.
The Federal Aviation Authority temporarily suspended flights from Williston’s Sloulin Field Airport pending an analysis of the smoke emanating from the fire. Health officials are monitoring air quality in the area.
Red River Supply offers trucking, warehousing and logistics to producers in the Williston Basin.
