A global company that supplies products to the key Gulf Coast region is one thing, but committing to its customers by building a local office and training facility in the Houston area is another.
VEGA Americas (VEGA), a leading supplier of radar, switching and pressure instrumentation, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of VEGA Grieshaber KG, headquartered in Schiltach, Germany, has opened its new office and training facility in Pasadena, Texas. The 23,783 square foot complex is a critical investment in serving Texas and Gulf Coast customers.
This expansion reflects VEGA’s commitment to providing exceptional service and support to its valued customers in the region. For more than 70 years, VEGA has provided products used in the measurement of level, density, pressure and weight. Industries where its products are used include energy, petrochemical, chemical, O&G, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, mining, plastics, food and beverage, bulk solids, water and wastewater.
"The oil and gas and petrochemical industries are here in the Houston area — everybody is here," said Isabel Geieshaber, CEO of VEGA Grieshaber KG. "So, if you want to play the game, you need to be here — it’s that simple."
With an international footprint in more than 80 countries, VEGA employs more than 2,300 worldwide — more than 350 with VEGA Americas in Texas and Ohio.
The centerpiece of VEGA Americas’ new office is an advanced training facility, featuring a classroom and lab equipped with handson applications like a process training unit to demonstrate VEGA’s instrumentation in action. Through this facility, VEGA customers will be able to gain tactile experience with VEGA products through real-world applications and insightful instruction.
As part of VEGA’s commitment to simplifying the service experience, customers will now be able to conveniently drop off their VEGA instruments for repairs and maintenance at a designated location inside the office. This service option is aimed at ensuring minimal downtown and maximum operational efficiency for local customers.
With its new office and training facility, VEGA Americas has made a significant investment in its customers, now being able to offer them more training and hospitality than ever before.
"The technology gap is closing, and customers make their decisions based on their perception of what is the easiest product to use — or the product they’re most comfortable with," John Groom, president of VEGA Americas said. He added that training is the most important aspect because it enables customers to become comfortable with the products.
"We don’t teach a customer that VEGA products are better; we inform the customer about how to choose the right technology. That’s not a concept that I would say is used in a traditional way because we’re not looking at how do we make it all about VEGA," Groom said. "We look at how we can educate the customer to make an informed decision. And then we will go and be successful, based on our ability to succeed in those specific technologies."
