Anyone looking to learn about the latest advances in industry technology and safety should make it a priority to attend the WJTA Conference & Expo, slated October 30 through November 1 in New Orleans.
The conference recently shifted from an annual to an every-two-year schedule, making attendance even more important.
Industrial cleaning equipment and automated systems continue to advance, offering the opportunity for more consistent cleaning cycles while placing operators away from line-of-fire hazards. Standardized WJTA training and certification has also continued to expand, creating a common entry-level curriculum of best practices and a career pathway for industrial cleaning craftspeople.
The WJTA Conference & Expo is the ideal opportunity to gain insight into the latest technology and solutions and learn about options for operator credentials. The event opens with the Waterjet Technology Basics & Beyond Short Course. Since WJTA’s founding 40 years ago, the association has organized short courses with different focuses to educate new users on the fundamentals and applications of waterjet technology.
The 2023 short course continues the popular recent installments of an expert faculty from industry and academia. The course introduces the basics of equipment, applications and safety, and covers more in-depth topics including industrial cleaning, cold cutting, hydrodemolition and sewer cleaning. The short course is suitable for new users and asset owners with little background in the industry; but even highly experienced industry professionals will find valuable takeaways from the course.
The exhibit hall opens the next morning with a variety of heavy equipment on display including high pressure pumps, vacuum trucks and excavators, automation tooling and robotics, PPE and safety devices and much more. Attendees have the opportunity to connect with a variety of vendors to discuss specific applications and evaluate equipment hands-on.
Strong connections are important for business and careers, and a conference is the perfect way to meet industry peers and build a broad network. The industry appreciation reception in the exhibit hall offers the opportunity to connect over complimentary beverages sponsored by SPIR STAR.
The conference technical program continues with sessions throughout the event covering both basic and advanced topics. The asset owner sessions offer topics of particular importance to plant personnel including safety, sustainability, cleaning data and automation. Additional technical sessions include the boot camp topics covering automation safety, sewer nozzle selection, addressing employee turnover, calculating hydro-excavation jobs, grounding and safety around flammables and combustibles, and much more.
Outdoor live demonstrations are a popular highlight of the WJTA program. Demos include waterjetting at full pressure with new pumps, control systems, safety devices and tooling. Seeing the operation of the newest waterjetting and vacuum equipment in person is a great way to evaluate options.
The WJTA Conference & Expo offers unlimited opportunities to gain insights.
