LyondellBasell has failed to restart a crude distillation unit that was damaged in an April 8 fire, Reuters reports. The company is planning to try the restart again this week, according to market sources. The crude unit has been shut down since April 11 to repair leaks in an attached vacuum distillation unit.
The fire broke out on the refinery’s coking unit, which is expected to be down for at least three months.
It was reported last week that a sulfur recovery unit at the refinery was hit by a power outage.
