APV Renaissance Partners Opco LLC has commenced engineering and permitting activities related to the proposed construction of a new 1,000-megawatt combined-cycle natural gas facility at the former Hatfield's Ferry Power Station in Masontown, Pennsylvania.
APV entered into an agreement to purchase a portion of the real property and certain assets at the plant site from FirstEnergy Corp.'s Allegheny Energy Supply Co. LLC subsidiary earlier this year. If the project proceeds, APV would acquire the project site, including the plant's two cooling towers, but Allegheny Energy Supply would continue to own the remaining Hatfield plant facilities, including approximately 200 acres of land and the other former plant structures.
