Calpine Corp. has agreed to buy the Granite Ridge Energy Center — a 745-megawatt natural-gas-fired power plant in Londonderry, New Hampshire — for $500 million. The plant is located in ISO-New England, where Calpine expects revenues to grow substantially over the next three years due to tightening market conditions. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016.
Calpine closed on the purchase of Houston-based commercial and industrial retail electricity provider Champion Energy Oct. 1.
