NRG Energy is planning to idle a 75-megawatt natural gas peaker at its WA Parish plant near Houston for at least three months starting in May, Platts reports. The combustion turbine generator is being converted to a cogen unit as part of a carbon capture project that is expected to come online this year. The turbine was built as a stand-alone unit in 2012.
