PBF Energy will restart a 20,000-barrel-per-day hydrocracking unit at the refinery in Chalmette, Louisiana, it is buying from ExxonMobil and PDVSA, Reuters reports. Sources say PBF could restart the unit by late 2016. PBF may also restart an idled coker at the 192,500-barrel-per-day refinery.
The hydrocracker was idled in 2010 due to the global recession’s effect on diesel fuel exports.
