Chevron Phillips Chemical has received approval from its board of directors and secured a permit from Texas regulators to expand normal alpha olefins (NAO) production at its Cedar Bayou facility in Baytown. The expansion will bring an additional 100,000 metric tons of NAO production capacity per year. Construction is expected to be finished in July 2015.
Chevron Phillips broke ground on a new 1.5 million-metric-tons-per-year ethane cracker at the Cedar Bayou facility in April.
