ExxonMobil will add approximately 20,000 barrels per day of processing capacity at its Beaumont, Texas, refinery, the company announced today. ExxonMobil Refining and Supply Co. President Jerry Wascom said the expansion would enhance the refinery’s ability to process light crude oils such as the blends coming from U.S. shale plays.
Last week it was reported ExxonMobil had assembled a team to study the addition of a third crude distillation unit at the Beaumont site that would make it the largest refinery in the U.S.
