Marathon Petroleum is planning to integrate its adjacent Texas refineries as part of a plan to boost diesel output, Reuters reports. Marathon CEO Gary Heminger said today the company plans to merge its Galveston Bay and Texas City refineries from a process standpoint and build one hydrotreater between the two. Heminger did not give a timeline for the project, but Marathon had already revealed plans to add hydrotreating capacity at Galveston Bay and shut down its smallest and oldest FCCU.
