Phillips 66 is considering building a new hydrocracker at its Lake Charles, Louisiana, refinery to produce ultra-low sulfur diesel, Reuters reports. Plant Manager Steve Geiger said the refinery is evaluating several options, including hydrocracking, hydrotreating and a revamp.
Phillips 66 last week said it would spend $1.2 billion on its refining business in 2016 — mostly on reliability, safety and environmental compliance projects.
