Sasol and INEOS have reached a final investment decision to build a new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) facility in LaPorte, Texas. The 50-50 joint venture will produce 470 kilotons of HDPE per year with ethylene supplied by both companies. The plant, which will use INEOS’ Innovene process technology, is expected to start up in 2016. INEOS will operate the plant at its Battleground Manufacturing Complex. The JV was first announced last July.
