PVC plastics manufacturer Shintech will spend $1.4 billion to build a new ethylene plant at its existing site in Iberville Parish, La. Via the Advocate, the project — the third major expansion the company has announced in Louisiana since 2008 — will bring Shintech’s total capital investment in the state to $4.7 billion. The company is expected to break ground on the project in the second quarter and complete it in the first half of 2018.
Shintech is currently expanding its VCM, PVC and caustic soda capacity in Iberville Parish.
