Westlake Chemical last week said it completed a $330 million ethylene expansion and a turnaround at its Lake Charles, Louisiana, facility. Westlake CEO Albert Chao said in a statement the company was in the process of restarting the expanded Petro 1 facility. The expansion adds 250 million pounds of ethylene production capacity per year.
Westlake is also working to expand ethylene production at its Calvert City, Kentucky, plant by 70 million pounds per year.
