Williams revealed last week it is considering adding a second ethane cracker to its olefins plant in Geismar, La. John Dearborn, senior vice president of NGL and petchem services for Williams, said on a conference call the company is looking for investment partners on the project. No cost or capacity estimates were given. Via the Baton Rouge, La., Advocate, Williams was nearing completion on a $350 million-$400 million expansion of its existing Geismar ethane cracker last June when it exploded, killing two people. The Geismar facility currently produces about 1.3 billion pounds of ethylene per year.
