Enterprise Products Partners canceled plans for a proposed pipeline that would have carried Bakken crude to Cushing, Okla., due to insufficient interest from shippers. The 1,200-mile, 340,000-barrel-per-day pipeline was expected to be fully operational by the third quarter of 2017. Enterprise in early September began an open season that lasted until Oct. 17.
Andy Lipow of Lipow Oil Associates told Bloomberg the decision is “not really surprising” due to competition from other oil pipeline projects in the Bakken region.
