Houston-based midstream partnership Genesis Energy will spend $150 million to build a new import/export terminal in Baton Rouge, La. The terminal will be located on 90 acres at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge and will process crude oil, intermediates and refined products. Genesis said it plans to build 1.1 million barrels of tank capacity, with the capability to expand if needed. The terminal will be connected to the nearby ExxonMobil facilities and Genesis’ own rail facility, which will be linked to the Canadian National Railway and the Kansas City Southern Railway. Genesis expects the terminal to be complete by the second quarter of 2015.
