-NuStar and Oxy signed an agreement to ship NGLs through the former’s 200-mile, 110,000-barrel-per-day pipeline between Mont Belvieu and Corpus Christi, Texas. NuStar said in a statement it has begun work to reverse the pipeline’s flow and convert it to ship NGLs instead of refined products. Oxy will transport the NGLs from the pipeline to its export facility in Ingleside, Texas.
-Former Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar told attendees at a landowners’ conference Wednesday he believes hydraulic fracturing is safe. He urged the oil and gas industry to communicate to the public the safe track record of fracking operations in the U.S.
-American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers President Charles T. Drevna on Tuesday called for a “tiered, targeted and risk-based” approach to reforming the Toxic Substances Control Act. In a statement written in response to a House committee hearing on TSCA, Drevna urged Congress to direct the EPA to prioritize chemicals in commerce.
-Placid Refining promoted engineering manager Robert Beadle to refinery manager at its Port Allen, La., facility. The 16-year Placid veteran replaces Joey Hagmann, who now works for Calumet Specialty Products Partners.
