Plains All American will add pumps to its Cactus pipeline to increase takeaway capacity, the company announced Monday. The expansion will boost the pipeline’s throughput from 250,000 barrels per day to approximately 330,000 barrels per day. The pipeline, which is expected to be in service in April, will transport Permian Basin oil to Gardendale, Texas. The expansion will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.
The Cactus pipeline expansion and Plains’ Eagle Ford Joint Venture Pipeline expansion will allow higher production volumes to be transported from the Permian to Corpus Christi, Texas.
