Valero Energy Corp.’s ethanol plant in Mount Vernon, Indiana, could be down for as long as a week after a fire broke out on Monday, Reuters reports. Repairs to the grain dryer where the fire occurred will idle the plant for at least a few days, a source said. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.
Valero purchased the previously mothballed plant from Aventine Renewable Energy in March 2014 and restarted it four months later.
