Quest Integrity specializes in overcoming and developing solutions for complex challenges. In the mid-1990s, the FTIS tool was developed specifically to inspect complex serpentine piping coils found in fired heaters within petroleum and chemical plants. At the time, the inspection of serpentine furnace coils was limited to conventional NDT methods. FTIS is an ultrasonic intelligent pigging technology that inspects furnace coils from 3 to 14 inches in the convection and radiant sections without requiring access to the furnace box.
Years of experience coupled with continuous improvement made FTIS a solid platform for the development and launch of the InVista intelligent pigging technology, which inspects unpiggable and difficult-to-inspect pipelines up to 100 miles in length. The current fleet of tools inspects pipeline diameters ranging from 3 to 24 inches, with development work continuing on additional larger diameter tools.
InVista, likewise, provided a solid plat-form for the development and launch of the HYDRA inspection technology. HYDRA addresses the inspection needs of piping systems inside process facilities, in accordance with API-570 and API-574. It enables clients to inspect piping systems that may be routed between plant assets, such as fired heaters, coke drums, tanks and pressure vessels.
Other piping systems that are ideally suited for HYDRA inspection include those in congested overhead pipe racks or external insulation, thus limiting conventional NDE inspection approaches. HYDRA inspects piping or tubing ranging from 3 to 24 inches in diameter and will follow the InVista tool in operational expansion.
With the combined inspection and engineering assessment service offering, Quest Integrity provides a valuable benefit to clients: a meaningful set of data to effectively manage their most critical assets. The LifeQuest suite of software was developed in parallel with the inspection technologies to provide remaining life and fitness-for-service assessments.
