In the future, we see ourselves …
Continuing to be a company rooted in the fundamentals of safety, compliance, quality, responsiveness and cost-effectiveness. We have a long-standing history in the power generation market and we want to continue to have a strong presence and respectable reputation there. We’re also currently growing our petrochemical services business and we see this market as having a lot of the same needs as power. There’s a need for safety, compliance, quality and process management so NAES will grow and establish itself in this particular marketplace. Overall, NAES will continue to be a vibrant, growing company performing quality work for our customers and earning a fair return for investors.
We always begin and end our company meetings by …
Emphasizing safety because this is an area you can always improve on. It’s an area of vital importance to us and whenever we have a meeting there’s going to be something said about safety, whether it’s a new regulation, reminder or some sort of other news. We are working to build a greater awareness and appreciation for safety in the workplace. Safety is critical to NAES and our customers.
The most difficult obstacle NAES has overcome is …
Years ago we were owned by utility companies and we were captive to their business interests. They came to us and said their interests as owners are diverging and NAES needed to go out into the marketplace and find a home and wean itself from their work. We were a relatively young company being told our ties were bro-ken and, if we’re going to survive, we needed to go out on our own. This was a big obstacle we had to overcome.
A number of years later, we looked at our business and decided we needed a division that was different than maintenance or maintenance construction. We embarked on the plant operations business and finding that first customer willing to take us on as a plant operations company took a big effort on our part. It was also a big leap of faith on the customer’s behalf to trust a company that knew all about maintenance and construction but had no real history in plant operations.
Our customers would describe us as …
Committed. You need to deliver and meet your customers’ expectations. NAES puts forward the effort and produces the results its customers expect. These things have to be in all aspects of our business. We can’t afford to excel in one area and fail in others. NAES defines success as meeting all customer requirements, and living up to this commitment is the most important thing we can do.
We are most proud of our …
History. We’ve been in business for more than 30 years and we expect the company to be around for another 30 years and beyond. It’s critically important to think “legacy” and build a company that’s bigger, broader and more successful in every aspect than it is today.
We are also proud because the promises NAES delivers are real. We are able to keep our customers happy, meet their expectations and treat our employees right. We are proud of all these things.
