TIOGA, N.D. — In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Excel Modular Scaffold employees at Hess Corp.’s gas plant in Tioga wore pink hardhats and stickers while working on site. Jeff Arrington, site manager for Excel Modular Scaffold, designed the stickers and said they received a lot of support from other contractors and Hess.
“We ran out of stickers the first day, giving them to whomever wanted one,” Arrington said. “Some of us, myself included, have been closely affected by breast cancer. I personally lost my grandmother who practically raised me, and my fiancée’s mother has it now. We did it for the ladies in our lives, the many who are fighting the battle today and the ones who have lost this battle to honor them in their courageous struggle with this disease.”
