Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund
HOUSTON — The 2nd Annual Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund Gala will be held March 24 at 6 p.m. at the Houstonian Hotel in Houston. The event will include cocktails, dinner and a live auction.
Established in 2014, the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving back through education by financially assisting veterans, their families and family members of service members killed in action with education expenses; $1.8 million in grants have been made since its establishment in 2014, with $1.75 million in grants made in 2015 alone. Last year’s gala raised over $1 million.
BIC Alliance members EMCOR Industrial Services and its companies Ohmstede, Repcon, AltairStrickland, Diamond Refractory Services, Tiger Tower Services and Turnaround Welding Services are sponsors of the gala. EMCOR Group Inc. President and CEO Tony Guzzi is a co-founder of Johnny Mac and serves on its board of directors.
