WHEATON, Ill. — Spraying Systems Co. recently hosted its Spray Technology Forum in Katy, Texas. Attendees learned ways to optimize many of the processes in their plants, including gas cooling, water wash, chemical injection, and tank mixing and blending.
The forum featured new technology demonstrations, including 3-D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling simulations, which gave attendees a new perspective on what really happens with fluid flow inside equipment pipes, ducts and vessels.
Spraying Systems’ Chuck Munro presented “Insights and Techniques for Successful Application of Sprays,” which revealed ways to optimize spray performance, how to avoid costly design mistakes, when to use CFD modeling to determine injector placement and much more. Experts also answered technical questions and discussed the challenges petrochemical and chemical processors may be facing in their operations.
