NEW YORK — Veolia continues to support one of the world’s largest household hazardous waste collection efforts — The City of New York Department of Sanitation’s (DSNY) NYC SAFE (Solvents, Automotive, Flammables and Electronics) Disposal Events. Recently, in each of New York City’s boroughs, all household hazardous waste (HHW) collected were recycled or disposed of by Veolia at one of its facilities. Veolia provided environmental specialists, equipment, material and support to properly manage the HHW collected during the events.
“We’ve been assisting DSNY with their NYC SAFE Disposal Events since its inception, and we couldn’t be more proud to bring our expertise to the service of New York City in an effort to intercept hazardous substances from landfills,” said Steve Hopper, executive vice president and COO of Veolia North America’s Industrial Business.
