Cheniere Energy will move forward with the construction of a $550 million condensate export terminal near Corpus Christi, Texas. Via Reuters, Cheniere Director of Crude Trading and Origination Nelson Lee said the company is building the terminal in anticipation of an eventual end to the U.S. ban on crude oil exports. The facility will have storage and stabilization capacity in San Patricio, Texas, and will connect via pipeline to Cheniere’s operations in Ingleside, Texas.
Reports of Cheniere’s plan to build the facility first surfaced last October. Cheniere said at the time it was considering building a condensate splitter at the terminal, but Lee said that idea has been scrapped.
