Chevron and BP today announced a new oil discovery at the Guadalupe prospect located about 180 miles from the Louisiana coast. The well is nearly 4,000 feet below the surface and was drilled to a depth of 30,173 feet. The companies said further testing would be done to determine the extent of the resource. Chevron and BP each own a 42.5% interest in the well and Venari Resources owns a 15% interest. Chevron is the operator.
BP also announced a new discovery in the Central North Sea.
