Striking workers at Marathon Petroleum’s Galveston Bay refinery in Texas City, Texas, rejected the company’s latest contract offer late Tuesday. Via the Houston Chronicle, union employees at the refinery have complained that the company wants to be able to change schedules with no prior notice, forcing them to work on their days off or after their shifts end. More than 1,000 workers at the refinery have been on strike since Feb. 1.
Marathon Galveston Bay and BP’s Toledo, Ohio, refinery are the only two remaining facilities with workers on strike.
