BP today announced it began oil production at the Kinnoull field in the central North Sea. It is BP’s seventh and final major upstream project start-up this year. BP expects the Kinnoull reservoir to enable a 10-year production extension at its Andrew platform located approximately 143 miles east of Aberdeen, Scotland. Production from Andrew and Kinnoull is expected to peak at more than 50,000 barrels per day, BP said. BP operates and has a 77.06% interest in the Kinnoull field. The remaining 22.94% interest belongs to JX Nippon Exploration and Production of the UK.
